University of Maine
College of Education and Human Development

The University of Maine is located in Orono, Maine. The College of Education and Human Development at the University offers a wide variety of Masters’s level programs in Education.

Their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed for graduates of four-year degree programs in liberal arts and sciences. It includes all courses and internships required to for teacher certification in Maine at the secondary level (7-12) as well as for foreign languages (K-12).

The Counselor Education program offers two different Master of Education degrees. The M.Ed. in School Counseling prepares students for certification and careers as school counselors. The M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling prepares graduates for a career as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC).

The College of Education and Human Development offers a Master of Science in Human Development. The program prepares graduates for professional practice in agencies that serve children, adolescents, adults, and families.
