George Fox University’s School of offers Master’s programs leading to initial teaching licensure in the form of the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree. Part-time and full-time programs are available. The M.A.T. Standard program leads to licensure in any two adjacent levels selected from:

  • Early Childhood
  • Elementary
  • Middle School
  • Secondary

The M.A.T. Plus program requires 11 additional hours. It leads to the same initial licensure as the M.A.T. Standard program plus an endorsement in one of the following specialties:

Oregon State University
College of Education

Oregon State University offers several Master’s programs for educators.

They offer a Master of Science degree for existing science and mathematics educators wishing to further their expertise as a K-12 teacher. There two Master of Science options available in both Science Education and Mathematics Education specialties:

  • Free-Choice (Informal) Learning (preparing educators to work in science museums, national parks, zoos, aquariums, etc.)
  • School-Based (for K-12 teachers, secondary educators training as a curriculum or professional development specialist, or educators training as a department head or other supervisory position)

Oregon State also offers a Master of Education program in K-12 Education as well as Organization and Human Resources (Adult Education).

They also offer some rather specialized Master programs. These include a Master of Natural Resources program, a Professional Science Master’s in Fisheries and Wildlife Administration program, a Master of Science in Radiation Health Physics program, and a Master of Health Physics program.

Pacific University
College of Education

Pacific University – Oregon offers a Master of Arts in Teaching for candidates seeking initial teaching licensure. Candidates can choose from four authorization levels:

  • Early Childhood Education (PK-4)
  • Elementary Education (3-8)
  • Middle School Education (5-9)
  • High School Education (7-12)

Candidates are allowed to qualify for one or two authorization (only one is required). Those choosing Middle School and/or High School can choose from the following subject area endorsements:
